The online project LIVING CODES is a further development of the artwork "Observation" from Andrea Pesendorfer. The original project deals with the visualization of the personal daily routines and came into existence during a stay abroad in Mexico City. In collaboration with NETural Communication the artist developed the project to an online-diary tool.
LIVING CODES is designed as follows:
One week (7 days) bundled on one page, in order that repeating activities and nonrecurring incidents become visible in the form of color codes. This creates a visual pattern that allows you to capture the daily routine in one viewing.
In the first online-version the top line is activated. The bottom line can also be referred to as the "what i do / I did" layer. For this line defined color codes that are assigned to activities are available. The user can enter these activities on a time line from 12am to 12pm.
The range of interaction with the on-hand tools reaches from a playful realization of the personal activity into an image. Moreover, the tool offers a communication platform for the exchange with others telling about lived or planned experiences in the form of color codes and structural comparison.
Perspective of the LIVING CODES:
In different planned finishing steps all 4 lines of the tool will be allocated with functions. Next to activity symbols, that allow a closer description of the respective activity, more codes will be added. They will also involve the social situation and the emotional condition. In the last step the user can be looking forward to creating their diary via the use of additional photos and detailed infos.
